Meet our roaster community

Behind each fantastic coffee are talented craftsmen and growers. Here are some of the UK roasters we are proud to spotlight.

Redemption Roasters

Hemel Hempstead

Redemption Roasters is the world’s first prison-based coffee company. All of Redemption’s coffee is roasted at their roastery inside HMP The Mount, proving the company ethos that ‘exceptional coffee can come from people and places you wouldn’t expect’. Existing to reduce reoffending through coffee, Redemption runs barista academies in three prisons alongside a community coffee school training people at risk of crime.

Wolfox Organic Coffee Roasters

In a competitive and complicated world, often driven by quantity rather than quality, we like to keep things simple. We are all about an enjoyable coffee experience which is achieved through some basic principles: Taste, Quality, Sustainablility and Organic.

Perky Blenders

East London

At Perky Blenders, we like to think of ourselves as one big family, because as a family owned and operated independent specialty coffee roasters, it’s at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is pretty simple - to bring really good specialty coffee to as many people as possible.... and have a bit of fun along the way! We source all of our own coffee, working closely with farmers and importers the world over, roasting our beautiful beans in Leytonstone, East London.

Grindsmith Coffee Roasters

Grindsmith was founded with the dream of bringing great coffee to Manchester. The real beating heart of the business is the Grindsmith Roastery based in the business district of Ancoats. The founders Pete and Luke are like the Yin & Yang of the coffee world, working together in harmony to bring a balanced result.

Old Spike

Peckham, London

Old Spike is UK’s first social enterprise speciality coffee roastery combining excellent coffee with a strong social and environmental ethos. Established in 2015 as a community interest company, 65% of our profits are going directly towards training, supporting and employing those experiencing, or at risk of homelessness. As a carbon neutral certified business, sustainability is one of our core values (alongside quality and social impact) and for every bag of coffee sold we plant a tree, in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects to help reverse the effects of global warming and deforestation.

Volcano Coffee Works

South London

Volcano Coffee Works was founded by Kurt Stewart in 2010 as an ethical roastery that would bring the great tasting coffees he had grown up with in New Zealand to the UK, while supporting the livelihoods of the communities who grow and produce it. We believe coffee can be a force for good. We believe in environmentally sustainable and ethically traded coffee, and work with partners all over the world who actively engage community-based improvements – which is how we proudly got certified B Corp & Carbon Neutral. We make quality specialty coffee approachable – making it a great offering for entry level specialty drinkers and connoisseurs alike!

Deluxe Coffeeworks

Acton, London

We can trace our roots back to Wellington, New Zealand. That cool, funky place where the Havana Coffee empire was built. In fact, we are named after one of the oldest and most famous cafes in Wellington.Since our inception in 2009, over a couple of beers, between our founders Carl and Judd, we have grown into a one-of-a-kind coffee roaster and coffee shop destination in Southern Africa and London, with even bigger ambitions. We may have started as a backyard roaster, but we are of the spark that created the explosion of the coffee culture we have in South Africa today. We have a strong oral tradition. Our stories are told and retold, and become part of the fabric of our clan. We assimilate our people. There are no hard and fast rules. Boundaries are clearly drawn but within that is complete freedom of expression, where individual personalities can flourish. We are human after all, not robots! Here there are no script to regurgitate. We talk from experience, and with love and passion. That energy as a business permeates everything we do. There is something intangible, a certain magic or alchemy that permeates our organisation. Alchemy that is made up of people, attitude, and a true passion for coffee, and making people happy every day.

Rounton Coffee Roasters

North Yorkshire

Our coffees are roasted in North Yorkshire by a small team who just really, really love coffee. It's as simple as that. As with most things Yorkshire, we're a pretty straightforward bunch here at Rounton Coffee Roasters. We don't need to be the coolest, or take ourselves too seriously, so long as we're roasting dead good coffee. Today, as a multi-award-winning roastery, we find ourselves able to work with some of the most forward-thinking minds in the coffee industry, and some of the world's most celebrated producers. Our dynamic little team is fiercely passionate about coffee, people, and making positive change in the world around them.

Kiss the Hippo

Since opening our roastery in 2018, Kiss the Hippo has become one of London‘s most innovative and sustainable specialty coffee companies. With an emphasis on both sustainability and quality at its core, the company has received success on the UKBC competition stage as well as international recognition for its approach to environmental practices. Whilst nurturing partnerships with coffee growers across the world and roasting award-winning lots, we have proudly achieved to be London's first Carbon Negative Coffee Company and have partnered with Swiss-not for profit 'On a Mission' - contributing to reforestation projects around the planet. Through direct and ethical trade relationships, we proudly adhere to the global coffee harvest, meaning our coffee is completely seasonal with a range of flavour profiles to suits all types of coffee lovers.
